- Deterioration of the gastrointestinal tract. Bakeries often replace live yeast with thermophilic yeast. These are synthetic products that, during fermentation, can negatively affect the body. My father grew up in a small town where every woman baked her own bread. It was as natural as cleaning the hut or washing the dishes. My grandmother baked delicious and aromatic bread.
