There are many dishes in which seemingly incompatible ingredients give a surprisingly rich, incomparable taste. The Mistress salad is one of those treats. Here, bright carrots get along well with amber raisins, juicy beets - with aromatic walnuts, piquant garlic - with sweet prunes.
Mistress salad: a step by step recipe
I belong to that group of people who always prepare at least one new dish for every holiday. That is why, a few weeks before the next celebration, views of numerous culinary pages on the Internet and in print publications begin. And then one day I came across a recipe for the "Mistress" salad. The name of the dish seemed unusual, and the composition was very interesting. As it turned out in reality, the salad is not only tasty and appetizing, but also very easy to prepare.
Ingredients:
- 400 g of boiled beets;
- 200 g carrots;
- 150 g of hard cheese;
- 100 g of walnut kernels;
- 70 g raisins;
- 70 g prunes;
- 3 cloves of garlic;
- 200-250 g sour cream;
- salt to taste.

Prepare food.
To make a quick salad, boil the beets the day before cooking

Rinse raisins and pitted prunes, place in small containers, cover with warm water and leave for half an hour.
Seedless dried fruits are used for salad

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater and mix with chopped garlic.
Garlic can be passed through a press, grated on a fine grater or chopped with a knife
- Grate peeled raw carrots on a fine grater.
- Place the raisins and prunes on a sieve or squeeze lightly with your hands.

Combine raisins with grated carrots.
Add well-drained raisins to the salad
- Peel the boiled beets, grate on a coarse grater.
- Chop the prunes and walnut kernels with a knife.

Combine beets with nuts and prunes. Add a pinch of salt to the resulting mass, mix.
The amount of salt in the salad is taste-adjustable
- Mix each part of the salad (cheese with garlic, carrots with raisins and beets with nuts and prunes) with a little sour cream.
- Shape the salad using a large forming ring or a snap baking pan.

Place the beets in the first layer.
For salad dressing, you can use sour cream, mayonnaise, kefir or natural yogurt

The second layer is cheese and garlic mass.
Thoroughly level each layer, lightly compact with a spoon
- The last layer is carrots with raisins.

Decorate the salad with any ingredient in the dish (in this case, beets).
Garnish the salad with vegetables, cheese, nuts, dried fruits or fresh herbs
- Refrigerate the salad for 30 minutes.

Gently remove the dish and serve.
Before serving, the salad should be kept in the refrigerator for at least half an hour
