Step-by-step recipe for New Year's Hours salad

I learned that a New Year's salad can be designed in the form of a clock thanks to the culinary pages of the Internet. The original decoration of the dish was to my taste, and my household, and all our friends. Therefore, for 4 years now I have been making a salad with this design for a celebration dedicated to parting with the outgoing year and meeting a new one.

Ingredients:

  • 300 g ham;
  • 5 boiled eggs;
  • 2 boiled potatoes;
  • 1 boiled carrot;
  • 2 pickled cucumbers;
  • 1 can of canned green peas;
  • 200 g mayonnaise;
  • salt and black pepper - to taste;
  • 12 pitted olives;
  • greens for decoration.

Preparation:

  1. Prepare food.

  2. Cut the potatoes into medium-sized cubes. Do the same with ham and cucumbers.

  3. Set the yolks of three eggs aside. Cut the remaining whites and 2 eggs into medium cubes.

  4. Open the jar of peas, put the contents in a sieve and leave to drain the brine.
  5. Transfer the potatoes, cucumbers, ham, peas and eggs to a large container, add black pepper and salt to taste.

    Use a large bowl to mix all the salad ingredients well.

  6. Season the salad with mayonnaise, stir.
  7. Place a round baking dish with a diameter of about 20 cm on a large plate.

  8. Transfer the salad to a mold and flatten it with a spoon.
  9. Grate the egg yolks on a fine grater, holding it directly over the dish.

  10. Free the salad from the mold.
  11. Cut the carrots into 2 pieces. Cut one into thin circles so that you get 12 pieces of approximately the same diameter and thickness. From the second, cut out the hands for the clock.
  12. Place the carrot slices on top of the salad. With mayonnaise, draw the corresponding number on each piece.
  13. Reinforce the carrot arrows in the center of the food.
  14. Garnish with fresh herbs.
