Norwegian Roman salad: delicate freshness on your table

Salad
Salad

The Norwegian Roman salad is almost universal: it can be served as a side dish or as a main course. Its delicate taste has not left anyone indifferent yet.

How to make a Norwegian Romance salad

The peculiarity of this salad is that in its composition potatoes, which are most often used in such dishes, are replaced with boiled rice. It is rice that goes well with canned fish.

For the salad you will need:

  • 50 g fresh dill;
  • 125 g of rice;
  • 2 cans of canned pink salmon;
  • 1 onion;
  • 1 carrot;
  • 2-3 fresh cucumbers;
  • 1 bunch of lettuce leaves
  • 2 tbsp. l. lemon juice;
  • salt, pepper, mayonnaise - to taste.

By the way, instead of canned pink salmon, you can use pickled salmon, especially if it is salted of its own. Firstly, it comes out cheaper, and secondly, the taste of the salad has new notes. And one more thing: I strongly recommend using not store-bought, but home-made mayonnaise prepared by yourself - it has a pronounced egg taste, which will only benefit the salad.

  1. Coarsely grate the carrots, put in a frying pan with hot vegetable oil. Add a little salt, pepper and fry, stirring with a wooden spatula. After a minute, reduce heat to low and fry for another 3-4 minutes, then remove the pan from heat.

  4. The next layer is pink salmon well mashed with a fork, also greased with mayonnaise. Next comes the onion, from which the lemon juice has been previously drained, and the fried carrots (discard them in a colander or napkin to glass the oil). Top again mayonnaise.
