10 unusual uses of WD-40 grease every housewife should know about

Fans of WD-40 grease are constantly looking for new ways to use it in the home. Some of them actually work!

To remove children's drawings

If small artists live in an apartment, then sometimes you have to wash their artistic creations with pencils from walls and furniture. To remove the pattern, apply the liquid to the soiled surface and to a cloth or sponge. Then wipe and rinse. Be careful with the wallpaper; cleaning it this way can damage the texture.

For removing handle stains from clothes

Strong and expensive cleaning agents are often required to remove ink. But the lubricant is great for cleaning some fabrics from such stains, for example, jeans. Apply spray to the ink stain and let sit for a couple of minutes. Then rinse the fabric with water. If you are unable to remove ink immediately, repeat cleaning.

To protect shoes from water

Initially, WD-40 is a moisture protection liquid, so it makes sense to use it to protect your shoes. In winter, spring, autumn and during the rainy season, shoes are exposed to strong moisture. It gets wet, dries up and this cycle repeats constantly, deteriorating the quality of the shoe material. To protect your shoes from moisture, spray and rub the lubricant over the cleaned surface.

For removing dried super glue from hands

WD-40 cleans up glue residues well from hands or glued surfaces. The adhesive dissolves easily and is removed by applying a lubricant. Remember to wash your hands thoroughly afterwards.

For quick removal of store labels

The aerosol easily removes sticky store tags from dense and hard surfaces such as plastic, metal and glass. But the grease can corrode cardboard and paper.

To remove gum from clothes and shoes

Removing gum from clothing or shoes is not easy, but WD-40 can do it. Apply it gently to the surface, trying to gradually peel off the gum. Then rinse the cleaned surface. The spray also removes the gum from the hair. Spray the liquid on the sticky area and let it absorb for a while, then gently comb through your hair and rinse.

For removing wax stains from carpet

WD-40 also removes dried wax from carpets and rugs. Apply it to the surface and let it absorb. Then clean the surface with a sponge or a thick cloth.

For cleaning the mirror from stains and streaks

The grease perfectly cleans the surfaces of plumbing fixtures, faucets, toilets and tiles. It removes salt deposits, mold and limescale. To clean the plumbing, spray evenly and scrub with a coarse brush, then rinse.
