But we all know that a treat prepared with our own hands is always tastier and healthier. One of the striking examples of this is the Broken Glass cake or, as it is also called, Mosaic. But all the following options gave me and my loved ones the opportunity to enjoy an amazingly delicate, magically beautiful and very tasty dessert, which one cannot help but fall in love with.
Broken glass cake: basic recipe
As with many other recipes, during the cooking process, you can fantasize and make some adjustments to your taste. However, first of all it is worth familiarizing yourself with the principles of creating a "mosaic" dessert. The option described below is the simplest, and everyone can cope with it.
Ingredients:
- 2 ready-made biscuit cakes;
- 500 g sour cream;
- 100 g granulated sugar;
- 20 g gelatin;
- 3 packs of jelly of different colors.

Prepare the jelly following the instructions on the manufacturer's packaging, pour it into molds, cool and send to the refrigerator until it solidifies.
Cook the jelly
- Pour 1/2 tbsp of powdered gelatin. cold water, leave for 30 minutes to swell.

While experimenting with making a colorful cake, I often substitute natural yogurt for sour cream. And more recently I was prompted by another option that interested me and conquered my eldest daughter.
Ingredients:
- 400 ml of condensed milk;
- 2 tbsp. water;
- 6 jelly bags of different colors;
- 2 sachets of instant gelatin.

For those who are no longer afraid to complicate culinary tasks a little, have enough time and a desire to please loved ones with a tasty and very healthy treat, I offer another version of the "mosaic" cake with the addition of cottage cheese.
Ingredients:
- 5 eggs;
- 1 tbsp. sugar + 4 tbsp. l.
- 5 tbsp. l. flour;
- 3 tbsp. l. starch;
- 1 tsp baking powder;
- 350 g of cottage cheese;
- 1.5 tbsp. l. gelatin;
- 100 ml of milk;
- 4 tbsp. l. sour cream;
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar;
- 1 tbsp. l. lemon zest;
- 2 jelly bags of different colors.
Preparation:
- While the jelly freezes in the refrigerator, make a biscuit cake and curd filling.
- Beat eggs with 1 tbsp. sugar for 5 minutes until a fluffy mass is formed.

Add flour sifted with baking powder and starch to the sugar-egg mixture.

Transfer the dough to a greased form with a little fat and bake at 180 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
