9 famous animals that saved lives
As it turns out, dogs are not the only friends of man. This collection features nine animals whose owners owe them their lives.
Pig Lulu
The pig was given as a birthday present to one girl who refused her. Instead, the mother of the birthday girl Joe Ann Alzman became the owner of the artiodactyl, and, as it turned out, not in vain. In 1998, Mrs. Alzman had a heart attack, and at that moment no relatives were around. Surprisingly, not everyone's favorite Lulu was not taken aback and ran out into the yard for help.
Remarkably, the animal had never left the house fence before this incident. Having got out on the nearest road, the pig stood in the middle of the road in the hope of stopping passing cars. After waiting for an hour, one of the drivers pulled up and followed Lulu to the house, where he found Jo Ann unconscious. The man called an ambulance and Mrs. Alzman was rescued.
Parrot Willie
Willy is arguably one of the few parrots to have received the Animal Lifesaver Award from the Red Cross. The badge of honor went to a representative of the wavy breed for saving a three-year-old child.
The situation happened in the Kuusk family during breakfast. Two-year-old Hannah's nanny made a cake, left it on the table, and went to the restroom. After a while, Megan Howard heard the shrill voice of a parrot. He shouted: "Mom, baby!".
The girl ran to the kitchen and found a choking child. The nurse was not taken aback and used the Heimlich trick to save the baby. However, according to Megan, the real hero is Willie.
Inca Cat
The Kriegers got a cat in 2002, when they took her from a shelter at the age of three months. The love given by the owners paid off after 7 years. The head of the family, Glen, fell down the stairs that led to the basement and suffered serious injuries to his arm and spine. The incident happened in the middle of the night when the other Kriegers were asleep and did not hear his moans. However, the Inca cat came to the owner's call.
She ran to Glen, looked and went into his wife's bedroom. Brenda woke up and decided that the pet wanted to go outside. The woman went to the exit of the house. On the way, she noticed the open door to the basement where her husband lay. Inca's timely reaction allowed specialists to be summoned in time to save Glen.
Pit Bull D-Boy
The story that took place in the Shoemaker family strikes with the heroism of their four-legged pet named D-Boy. Late in the evening, an armed robber broke into the trailer and began to threaten Angelica's two young children. The woman was so scared that she could not move. However, this cannot be said about their pit bull Di-Boy - the dog pounced on the intruder.
The offender shot the dog in the head, but the dog continued to defend its family and received two more bullet wounds. The bleeding dog grabbed the robber by the neck, which in the end was barely able to escape. Surprisingly, with such serious injuries, the pit bull not only saved its owners, but also survived.
Dog Angel
An incredible incident occurred in northern Canada in 2010. The Golden Retriever saved its 11-year-old owner from imminent death. Austin Foreman was attacked by a cougar while playing in the backyard. Surprisingly, a second before the jump of the predator, a pet of the family intervened.
While a fight was going on between the wild beast and the dog, the teenager managed to run home and call for help. The parents immediately contacted the Royal Mounted Police, whose officer immediately arrived at the scene. To pacify the puma, a law enforcement representative took four shots from a service weapon.
Surprisingly, the dog survived, receiving moderate wounds on the limbs and in the neck.
Cat baby
In January 2010, a fire broke out in the Ornberg family's country house. The couple were fast asleep on the sofa and did not notice how the fire engulfed the living room. They were saved by the unusual behavior of the 13-year-old cat Baby - the pet meowed loudly and jumped over its owners, thereby waking up one of them.
After vain attempts to localize the fire on their own, the Ornbergs called the rescue service, whose employees extinguished the fire.
Pudding Cat
A seven-year-old mongrel pet rescued his owner, Emmy, who suffers from insulin-dependent diabetes. One day, a woman went to bed and in the middle of the night, her blood sugar dropped sharply, leading to a rapid deterioration in her condition.
The cat sensed something was wrong and began to meow loudly, thereby waking up Emmy. She called her husband, who was returning from the night shift. He called an ambulance. The specialists arrived on time and were able to stabilize the woman's condition.
It is noteworthy that after this incident, Pudding began to react in a special way to changes in Emmy's sugar level.
Belukha Mila
The situation took place in the Arctic Pavilion of the Harbin Amusement Park in China. During the performance, the trainee diver had a cramp while performing one of the tricks at the bottom of the 6-meter pool. Student Yang Yun recalls that she was literally paralyzed that day and could not move.
The girl was rescued by the white whale Mila, who was also in the pool. She literally pushed Yun to the surface.
Babu dog
In early spring 2011, a resident of the small provincial town of Miyaki in Japan went for a walk with her dog, a 12-year-old Shih Tzu. As soon as Babu was on the street, she immediately ran towards the nearest hill. The pet stubbornly led the hostess to the top, as if begging to move faster.
As soon as they reached the peak of the hill, they found an evacuation center there. Looking back, the woman was horrified to see that their house and most of the area were under water due to the tsunami that hit the city.
