Where to put two buckets of cherries: 7 great recipes
If you have a bountiful harvest of cherries, you can simply freeze the berries. But it is better to show imagination and diversify the table as much as possible.
Cook jam
A popular recipe is jam. It is healthy, tasty and has a long shelf life. Cooked with and without seeds. You will need:
- cherry;
- sugar;
- water.
The main thing is to observe proportions. For 1 kg of berries, take 1 kg of sugar and 4 tablespoons of water. The cherries must be washed well and the stalks must be separated. For cooking, only fruits without damage are used. Then they cover it with sugar, add boiled water to quickly dissolve the crystals, mix and put in a cool place for 10 hours, but you can also overnight.
Then we cook the jam over low heat until it boils. Be sure to mix constantly. After boiling, the cherry mass is boiled for 30-40 minutes.
We put the finished yummy in sterilized jars, close with sealed lids. Cover the inverted jars with a warm blanket and leave to cool.
Bake charlotte
Cherry charlotte has a sour taste and bright color of the filling. Cooking these pastries is simple:
- two glasses of ripe berries;
- three eggs;
- half a teaspoon of baking powder or quenched soda;
- 250 grams of sugar;
- a glass of flour.
Beat the eggs with sugar, add baking powder or soda, add sifted flour. It is advisable to cover the baking dish with parchment paper and put the cherries on the bottom. Fill it with dough from above. We send the cake to the oven, preheated to 200 degrees for 40 minutes.
Make marmalade
This natural delicacy is useful for both adults and children. It's easy to prepare:
- cherries - 800 grams;
- sugar - 200 grams;
- gelatin - 20 grams.
We remove the bones. Beat with a blender until smooth. Strain the berry mass through a sieve or cheesecloth. We send to a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add sugar and cook over low heat for 15 minutes. In parallel, we soak the gelatin so that it swells. Remove the boiling mass from the heat and add the gelatin. Mix everything well and pour it into molds. It will take 2-3 hours for the marmalade to harden.
Make dumplings
This national Ukrainian dish has become a classic and serves as a hearty breakfast. Delicate dumplings are made with kefir:
- flour - 500 grams;
- salt - 1 teaspoon;
- sugar - 140 grams;
- kefir 3.2% - a glass;
- vegetable oil - 2 tbsp. l.;
- chicken egg - 2 pcs.;
- cherries - 600 grams.
Mix flour, salt, sugar in a deep container. In the kneading, we make a depression, pour in eggs and vegetable oil. Add kefir. Knead the dough with your hands until you get an elastic mass that will lag behind your hands. We leave it for 40 minutes, after which we roll it into a layer about 2 mm thick. Cut out the circles with the neck of the glass and add the filling of 4-5 cherries and 1/3 teaspoon of sugar. We fasten the edges so that the filling does not flow out. We cook immediately or send it to freeze.
Add to tea
The red beauty will add an unforgettable aroma to your tea drink. It can be used with any kind of tea or made collection:
- cherry;
- mint;
- Black tea;
- sugar;
- water.
Pour boiling water over all ingredients and insist. You can also use cherry leaves. They will make the taste more intense and spicy. This drink is useful in combating colds, as well as headaches and tachycardia.
Close compote
This drink perfectly quenches thirst and serves as a source of vitamins. Cooking is simple, for a 3-liter jar of compote:
- cherry - 0.5 kg;
- sugar - 1 glass;
- water - 2.5 liters.
Put the washed berries in sterilized jars. You can add a few sprigs of mint to each jar if you like. Pour in 1 glass of sugar. Fill half the jar with boiling water. Cover with a lid and leave for 15-20 minutes. Add boiling water to the top of the jar. After which we tightly tighten the jars with lids, turn them over and leave them under a warm blanket until they cool.
Cook cherry
For lovers of stronger drinks, there is a wonderful recipe for a cherry tincture made with strong alcohol:
- cherry;
- vodka, alcohol or moonshine with a strength of not more than 45 degrees;
- sugar at the rate of 200 grams per 2 liter bottle.
The berries are washed well and pierced with something sharp, such as a toothpick. Then they are put into a container and covered with sugar. Pour vodka or alcohol on top. Cover with gauze and put away in a dark place. Shake the container lightly every two to three days. After 10 days, the contents are filtered and bottled.
