How it is customary to punish men for treason according to the customs of different countries
Cheating is always pain, devastation, misunderstanding. But sometimes the betrayal of one of the spouses is a real crime that is punishable by law, and sometimes the price for the offense is so high that it causes confusion.
Uganda
Until 2007, there was a law in Uganda according to which cheating a wife to her husband was considered an offense and punishable by serving time in prison or a large fine ranging from 200 to 600 shillings. A man for treason could also receive a term of up to 12 months. And only in 2007, the country's Constitutional Court abolished this law, equalizing the rights of both sexes.
Switzerland
In Switzerland, back in 1856, a law was passed according to which cheaters of both sexes were punished. Once convicted of infidelity, a person was deprived of the right to remarry. However, the limit was only three years. By the way, the law is still valid to this day.
Ancient Russia
Despite the fact that adultery has always been considered a sin in Russia, the presence of mistresses and lovers was still not uncommon. So, the punishment of adultery is mentioned in the Charter of Yaroslav the Wise. A man who had not only a mistress, but also children from her was considered an adulterer. The traitor had to pay a fine in favor of the church, the size of which was determined by the prince himself. A woman was considered a traitor for any relationship with a stranger. The punishment in this case was imposed on the husband. If he forgave the traitor and continued to cohabit with her, then the punishment awaited him.
China
In this country, the punishment for adultery was introduced in 1913. For amorous pleasures with an unmarried girl, a man received a hundred blows with sticks, and with a married lady - eighty. Even inappropriate flirting and innuendo could get a hundred hits. To this day, unfaithful spouses are imprisoned for up to two years with confiscation of property.
Indonesia
In Indonesia, no special law has been passed to punish traitorous spouses. However, since most of the population is Muslim, and Sharia punishes adultery, the inhabitants of the country try to remain faithful to their spouses. The punishment for traitors is quite severe - up to 9 months in prison.
North Carolina
North Carolina in the United States is no exception in the fight against infidelity. The law of this state allows cheated spouses to punish the abuser with a dollar. By filing a lawsuit, a husband or wife has the right to receive impressive compensation. There is a known case when a deceived husband sued $ 8 million for a proven fact of treason.
Egypt
Egyptian law is not equally harsh on male and female traitors. A woman who dares to have a lover can go to jail for up to two years, while a man will receive only six months in prison for a similar act. In addition, it is much more difficult for a woman to prove her husband's betrayal in court.
