Curd and rice casserole, like in kindergarten: remembering a forgotten taste
Sweet casseroles are a great option to delight your family with a delicious breakfast or afternoon snack. Preparing such dishes is easy, while it is enough to have just a few simple ingredients on hand. Today we will talk about a rice and curd casserole, the taste of which is familiar to those who went to a kindergarten in Soviet times.
Step-by-step recipe for curd-rice casserole, like in kindergarten
As a child, I was picky about food, so most of the food from the kindergarten menu remained on the plates and returned to the kitchen workers. From what I liked, I remember well the pea puree and casseroles. Several years ago, I remembered my childhood and decided to try making a cottage cheese casserole with rice. I can't say with 100% certainty that I used the same recipe, but the result of my actions had exactly that distant and almost forgotten taste.
Ingredients:
- 500 g of cottage cheese;
- 150 g of rice;
- 300 ml of milk;
- 3 eggs;
- 80 g granulated sugar;
- 50 g raisins;
- 50 g butter + for greasing the mold;
- 1/2 tsp vanilla sugar;
- 1 pinch of salt;
- 2 tbsp. l. sour cream.
Preparation:

Prepare your ingredients.
Place the food you need on your work surface
- Rinse the rice in several waters, transfer to a saucepan with boiling milk and boil for a third of an hour. Throw the rice in a colander, wait for the liquid to drain. Transfer the porridge to a saucepan and mix with 50 g of butter.

Rinse the raisins, soak them in hot water for 20 minutes, fold them on a sieve, or pat dry with paper towels.
First of all, you should do the preparation of raisins and rice
- Place the curd in a large bowl and mash with a fork.

Add eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar, salt to the curd. Mix thoroughly.
Before mixing curd with other ingredients, thoroughly mash large lumps of product

Pour raisins and rice into the curd mass, mix the dough again. Leave some raisins for decoration.
Raisins can be added to dough or used to decorate dishes
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- Grease a baking dish with a little butter.

Pour the curd-rice mass into a mold, smooth, brush with sour cream and garnish with raisins.
For the casserole to acquire a beautiful crust, grease the blank with sour cream
- Place the dough pan in a hot oven and cook for about an hour until the top is browned.

Leave the casserole in the oven to cool, then gently remove from the mold.
