The first step is to get the chicory itself. This, of course, is not about a tall roadside plant with blue flowers, but about a brown powder, which can easily be found in the store on the next shelf with tea or coffee. An important nuance: it is desirable that the product contains no unnecessary components, for example, flavor enhancers or powdered cream. Well, then it all depends on the recipe that you decide to use.

Classic recipe
For the easiest chicory kvass to make, you will need:
- 5 liters of water;
- 300 g sugar + 1 tsp;
- 1.5 tbsp. l. chicory powder;
- 1 tsp citric acid;
- 50 g fresh yeast.
If there is no fresh yeast at hand, you can replace it with 5-7 g of dry yeast.

Boil the water, remove the pan from the stove and add 300 g of sugar to it: while the water cools, it will have time to completely dissolve.

As soon as the resulting infusion reaches a temperature of about 35–40 ° (slightly above room temperature), pour a few spoons of it into a separate cup and dilute the yeast in it with 1 tsp. Sahara. Let them ferment a little and add to the cooled infusion.

For example, using natural lemon. And if you add fresh mint and a handful of raisins to it, you get a delicious healing cocktail filled with useful substances.
You will need:
- 3 liters of water;
- 1 tbsp. l. chicory;
- 20 g fresh or 3-5 g dry yeast;
- 200 g sugar;
- 0.5 lemon or whole fruit, depending on how much sourness you want to get;
- 12-15 raisins;
- 5–6 stalks of mint.

Pour in cold water, stir and bring to a boil. Turn off the gas and set the pot aside to cool. At this stage, you can add mint, although some housewives prefer to put it in a cold drink.

Remove the gauze bag from the infusion, squeeze it and mix the future kvass thoroughly again so that all the components dissolve in it qualitatively.
