"Miss Russia": how the fate of the beauty queens of the 90s developed

After the collapse of the USSR, the Miss Russia competition was held for the first time in 1993. Viewers continue to love this show and follow the career development of the titled winners. We wondered how the fate of the beauties who won in the 90s developed. It turned out that not all girls were able to build a career in the modeling business and find happiness in life.

Anna Baychik, 1993

Anna came to the beauty contest from St. Petersburg. At that time, the girl was 16 years old, and few believed in her victory. However, it was this long-legged beauty that managed to eat. After success in the competition, Anna worked as a model for three years. She could be seen in the video of the then popular singer Kai Metov. At some point, Anna realized that the modeling business had ceased to interest her. A career in television also did not work out, so the girl decided to go into science.

Anna Baichik defended her Ph. D. thesis and began teaching at St. Petersburg State University. She married the dean of the same university and gave birth to a son. Anna is reluctant to remember her past and dreams only of a doctorate.

Inna Zobova, 1994

Inna Zobova started working as a model when she was a student at Moscow State University. But the part-time job quickly became the girl's main occupation. In 1994, Inna won the Miss Russia contest, after which she left for Paris. The beauty was lucky enough to participate in fashion shows of many famous designers. The girl could also be seen on the covers of popular glossy magazines, including the cover of Vogue, the most reputable fashion magazine. And in 2002, Inna became the face of Wonderbra, a large lingerie company. Today the model lives in Paris and is actively involved in charity work.

Elmira Tuyusheva, 1995

Since childhood, Elmira dreamed of the title of beauty queen, but the girl was serious about her education, so she entered the faculty of cybernetics in her native Obninsk. It was at the university that she was noticed and invited to the Miss Russia contest, the victory in which completely changed the girl's life. She took an active part in fashion photo shoots and starred in the film "Gloss". Elmira married Vladislav Metreveli, one of the founders of the Russian modeling business. The couple are raising a son.

Alexandra Petrova, 1996

Alexandra was 16 years old when she went to the Miss Russia pageant. According to the girl, she decided to participate out of curiosity. Sasha possessed incredible beauty, so her victory did not surprise anyone. Two years after the success in the competition, Alexandra began living with businessman Konstantin Chuvilin, she was going to open her own business and was already planning a wedding. But the day before her 20th birthday, Alexandra Petrova and her lover were killed at the entrance of the house. The man died on the spot, and the girl died on the way to the hospital.

Elena Rogozhina, 1997

Elena won the competition at the age of 15. Immediately after that, she was invited to the movie "The Bremen Town Musicians & Co", and a year later in Lebanon she won the title of "Miss Europe". Then Elena moved to the USA for a year and a half, and then moved to Europe. The model is married to businessman Denis Ershov. In 2006, the couple had a daughter. Today Elena lives with her family in Bulgaria, where they have their own business.

Anna Malova, 1998

Anna won the prestigious beauty contest only the second time. Later, at the Miss Universe contest, the girl also showed a good result - she was among the ten finalists. After that, Anna moved to the United States and began working as a model. In 2011, the girl was detained by the Manhattan police, but instead of a prison, Anna was awaited by a hospital ward and drug addiction treatment. After two years, all charges were dropped from the model.

In the United States, Anna Malova was for some time considered one of the most demanded and highly paid Russian women in this business.

Anna Kruglova's victory aroused the indignation of viewers, as the girl showed herself poorly in an intellectual competition. The rivals were also not on the girl's side. They thought she was too arrogant and capricious. During the preparation for the competition, Anna several times wanted to go home, because she did not like the tedious rehearsals and modest living conditions, and she did not believe in her success either. After the victory, the girl began to demand large fees for appearing in public, which did not please the organizers of the competition. Today nothing is known about Anna. It was rumored that she got married, had a son and moved to Europe.
