I keep a dish sponge in the refrigerator all the time: a simple trick, but a lot of benefits

Amazingly, something as simple as a kitchen sponge can be incredibly useful, but it's not about washing dishes. Just being in the refrigerator, it can become a real lifesaver for an experienced housewife.

Storing different types of food together means high humidity and mixing of odors. This can cause fresh vegetables to deteriorate more quickly and an unpleasant odor fills the chamber. Expensive sorbents will cope with the situation, but there is also another, reliable and budget option. Neither the rapid disappearance of fruit, nor expensive devices suited me, a dry kitchen sponge came to the rescue. I put it on the middle shelf of the refrigerator and immediately noticed the result. By absorbing excess moisture, it simultaneously retained the freshness of perishable food for longer and absorbed excess odors. The sponge can be replaced with a new one once a week or washed with vinegar, dried and put back.

You can put a sponge not only in the refrigerator, but also in the freezer. There is no need to absorb odors and the vegetables are already frozen there, but for me the experience was very useful. A frozen sponge is an excellent cooling agent for bruises or sprains. Its regular shape gives comfortable cold and allows you to reliably close the impact site. In addition, I personally find it much more pleasant to apply a clean frozen sponge to my skin than a bag of chicken.

A sponge can make a wonderful wardrobe fragrance that makes my bedding smell delicious. To do this, I simply drip a few drops of aromatic oil onto a dry sponge and put it in the cabinet, between the layers of fabric. The result is amazing, high-quality oil does not fade for several months and you can forget about chemical boxes with flavors.
