Making topiary does not require special skills and abilities, everyone can create a tree with their own hands, armed with the necessary materials and a good mood. The first thing that is required is an idea. Easter trees usually differ from classical ones in the presence of thematic decorative elements:

• eggs (decorative foam, polymer clay, etc.);
• chickens;
• bunnies with baskets.

But there are a lot of options on how to play up the Easter theme.

Necessary materials

The classic topiary imitates a tree with a spherical crown (it is this shape, according to Eastern teachings, that brings happiness). To create a base for decoration, you will need the following materials:

• ball-base made of foam. It can be purchased at a craft store in any size. If this is not possible, then you can make a similarity yourself by crushing a large lump of foil, newspapers, or by cutting a ball out of a piece of foam with a knife;

  

  For the crown of the tree, you will need a foam blank

• trunk. It can be made from any wooden stick, a piece of plastic pipe, or from several wooden skewers coiled together for a kebab. Again, there is an option to buy a ready-made stem (straight or curved) at a florist shop;

  

  For the trunk, you can use special sticks that are sold at the florist store

• pot. The base for topiary can be either an ordinary small flower pot or a beautiful tea mug;

• hot glue sticks and a heat gun for it. In working with topiary, this is the most convenient option - it gives good fixation and quickly hardens. But super-glue will not quickly fix the parts, and besides, it dissolves the foam;

The creation of a topiary begins with the base - the manufacture of the tree itself, which can then be turned into an Easter souvenir. To cope with the task yourself, you need to follow the following steps:

1. Make a hole in the base for the crown 3-4 cm deep.

2. Fill the hole with hot glue and firmly insert the trunk there so that the tree is fixed.

3. Pour mortar, gypsum or a piece of floral sponge into a cement pot. When using building mixtures, it will be enough to insert the barrel into the solution and fix it exactly until it dries completely. If a sponge is used, then you need to make a hole in it and fix the tree with a hot gun.

4. The trunk needs to be decorated first of all - paint it with paint, wrap it with a rope or satin ribbon.

5. Next, you need to cover the materials in the pot - put sisal, artificial grass on top of the glue, or just cover it with decorative beads.
6. You also need to create a base on the ball so that after gluing the decor, the foam or newspaper does not shine through. The crown can be pasted over with sisal, wrapped with knitting threads or simply dyed.

When the base of the topiary is ready, you can start for Easter decor. Ideas such as these are perfect for a holiday:

• tree with eggs of different colors. You can use wooden blanks, eggs made of foam, plastic, and paint them both independently and by purchasing a ready-made color set. Another option is to use real quail egg shells. For this, their filling is removed with a syringe, and then dried. It is very simple to fix eggs on the crown - all you need to do is use a glue gun and glue the decor in the desired sequence. For the integrity of the composition, you can add a couple of elements to the pot;

  

  For decorating topiary, you can use shells from real eggs

• topiary with sisal. The dense fibers made from the plant hold their shape well, so this material can be used when creating an Easter tree. Balls resembling eggs are rolled from sisal and filled into the crown of the tree. It would not hurt to add a chicken figurine to such a composition.

A direct association with Easter will be a topiary with an egg-shaped crown. Here you can also use a purchased blank (made of foam or wood) or make a base with your own hands from paper or papier-mâché. • cup and saucer;
• hot glue and a gun;
• unnecessary fork or thick wire;
• decorative elements.

1. The fork or wire must be bent so that the top and bottom hooks are directed in different directions.
