7 hilariously funny shows from the 90s that are so lacking
How often the adult generation is nostalgic for the past 90s and the programs that were released at that time. If now television is replete with hundreds of channels and reality shows, then a couple of decades ago, viewers were offered only a few. The funniest and most rated projects of the late XX century will be discussed.
Town
TV viewers watched the brilliant creative union of Yuri Stoyanov and Ilya Oleinikov from 1993 to 2012, when Gorodok was released. The audience fell in love with humorous miniatures in the spirit of old jokes so much that the program was very popular among both the young and quite adult generation.
Actors from series to series were reincarnated in new images that personified ordinary city people. The show was on television during the financial crisis in the country, and also remained relevant during the fierce competition in the early 2000s. The project would have continued to delight the audience if in 2012 one of the main artists of the Gorodok, Ilya Oleinikov, had not died.
According to his colleague Yuri Stoyanov, the show will never be the same, so its filming stopped. But viewers still remember the legendary show, as well as its title song performed by Angelica Varum.
Masks Show
Back in 1992, a new program about the life and humor of Odessa citizens appears before the audience. There are no replicas in the series, it is built only on musical accompaniment and amazing acting. Pantomimes performed by them are still considered the aerobatics of circus art. Almost all scenes were filmed in urban areas.
The director deliberately avoided pavilions and unnatural surroundings to make the final picture look more life-like. "Masks Show" was filmed in a hospital, bank, traffic police, at weddings and even in prison. It was with this program that Evelina Bledans began her career, playing a seductive nurse. In the early 2000s, the program lost some of its ratings due to a lot of competition and the appearance of new shows.
Pun
The TV magazine "Kalambur" consisted of several key headings that were shown in each new issue. The audience was especially fond of "Village of Fools" and "Steep Pike". Almost every inhabitant of our country knew a clown with a long red mustache, his wife with a long braid, as well as a mad pilot, his young assistant and an imperturbable stewardess.
The artists' voices were processed on a computer, making the episodes even more funny. The musical accompaniment also remained in the memory of the public for a long time, who recognized their favorite show from the first notes. The project lasted 5 years and was closed by the general agreement of the director and the main artists of the program.
Caution, modern
Long before his frenzied popularity, Dmitry Nagiyev, together with Sergei Rost, were the main characters of the show "Beware, modern!" The artists masterfully transformed themselves into a variety of roles, sometimes they even had to play women. Each image was original and unique in its own way. Everyday and family humorous situations shown in the TV show caused every viewer to smile. Anyone could see familiar images and scenes from their own lives in the show.
The difference between this project from others on television was that the actor could perform in several roles, playing in one scene thanks to the masterful work of make-up artists and cameramen. Although there were no special effects and no computer graphics in the program, it had high ratings. It was after this that Dmitry Nagiyev became famous, he was invited to appear in other popular projects and television series.
Both on
In the early 90s, when student humorous concerts and gatherings were considered especially popular, the Oba-na TV show appeared. Valdis Pelsh, Nikolay Fomenko and Igor Ugolnikov were one of its founders. The purpose of the show was to make fun of the most discussed situations in the country through sparkling jokes and musical scenes.
Young people were not afraid to write down numbers about the lack of food, the meeting of the State Duma and even about the criminal situation. Despite the public's love for the show, they tried to close it more than once. It happened after 5 years of work, when the conditions of the country's main television channel regarding jokes and humor became too harsh.
My own director
In 1992, when there were still no modern smartphones and social networks, all family videos were filmed with camcorders and subsequently recorded on tape cassettes. The funniest moments were sent to the show, where the presenter Alexey Lysenkov showed them all over the country. The creators of the best videos were awarded prizes, prestigious at that time.
Particularly popular was the column “Are you weak?”, Where the inhabitants of the country showed their outstanding qualities and skills. The lyrics of the song “I always take a video camera with me” were sung by absolutely everyone, as soon as it was heard on TV on Sunday. The project was closed in 2019 when it began to lose its audience. People started watching more videos on the Internet and social networks.
KVN
The Merry and Resourceful Club appeared on television in 1961. It was in the 90s that he gained particular popularity among viewers, who, thanks to KVN, were distracted from the harsh times. The main humorists at that moment were considered members of the teams "Odessa Gentlemen", who, after their deafening victory, organized their own project "Gentleman Show".
And also in the 90s Tatyana Lazareva, Garik Martirosyan and Grigory Malygin shone on the KVN stage. It was at this time that whole musical and humorous concerts began to be released. Although the Cheerful and Resourceful Club still has high ratings among viewers, the public considers the last decade of the 20th century to be its most successful time.
