Soda jelly is a treat that makes grandchildren ask me every weekend

My grandchildren are typhoons. When they visit me, I cook a mountain of food that disappears instantly. Of course, I want to pamper them not only with borscht and pies, but also with my own special sweets, which only their beloved grandmother can make.

Children are now spoiled with a wide variety of delicacies on demand. Their parents take them to restaurants, home meals, or something fast. And my table is always full of homemade treats and a special treat for the grandchildren is ready.

When I was little, my grandmother used to make meringues. Only she alone was ready to do this painstaking business: there were no mixers then, she beat the lush white foam with a simple fork and laid it on a baking sheet with a spoon. It turned out something like snowballs. The most unusual and delicious meringue in the world. I also came up with a dessert for my grandchildren that will be remembered for them as grandmother's know-how.

There are countless sweets and all kinds of delicacies in stores, but such as mine, they will not buy in the supermarket and therefore every weekend they ask to visit. They already liked this jelly very much. Yes, ordinary jelly, but only its taste is unusual. The elder, for example, loves Coca-Cola, and I mix dry jelly with this soda. The youngest loves phantom, and I make jelly for him based on it to give the taste and color to his favorite drink. I buy dry jelly transparent and yuez flavors. It is sold in bags and is intended for cakes. I pour this dry mixture with my grandchildren's favorite soda, let it swell a little, and then cook it over low heat, stirring constantly. I bring it to a boil and keep it for 15 seconds. As soon as it begins to thicken, I remove it from the stove and cool it a little. I pour it into molds. It can be silicone for cupcakes or plastic. Then it is easy to remove the jelly from them on a plate.

To extract jelly from any mold and keep its appearance, you need to prepare a large plate of warm water, 40-45 degrees. Then lower the bottom of the mold into water for a few seconds. I do this in a ladle so that no water gets into the jelly. Turn the mold over onto a plate and shake slightly. Dessert will easily come out of shape.

Sometimes I pour jelly into high-stemmed glasses. Children love this presentation very much. Feel like adults right away. Top can be garnished with pieces of fruit and whipped cream, or add berries to the jelly itself before solidifying. Each time I prepare new versions of the form and presentation, it's more interesting. And the dessert itself turns out to be very budgetary and, most importantly, unique.
