A simple recipe for tender Adyghe cheese: we cook tasty and healthy
Adyghe cheese can be found in the windows of most grocery outlets. But it is no secret that to facilitate the production process, increase the shelf life and enhance the taste, many modern manufacturers add to their products many additives that are very harmful to our body. To enjoy really healthy Adyghe cheese, it's best to cook it yourself.
Step-by-step recipe for making Adyghe cheese at home
The idea to make cheese myself came to my mind after reading an article on the pros and cons of industrial dairy production. On the first request for how to make cheese at home, the search engine returned hundreds of different recipes. And first of all, I made a wonderful Adyghe cheese.
Ingredients:
- 2 liters of milk;
- 3 tbsp. kefir, yogurt or milk whey.
Preparation:
- Pour the milk into a suitable non-stick container and heat until the first signs of boiling appear.
-
Pour kefir heated to 70 degrees, yogurt or milk whey into the milk, mix.
To prepare Adyghe cheese, you can use kefir, yogurt or whey
-
As soon as curd flakes begin to appear in the pan, turn off the heat immediately.
When the first signs of curdling appear, the heating of milk should be stopped immediately.
-
When the flakes settle to the bottom and the whey becomes almost transparent, drain the contents of the pan using a special cheese pan. Add a little salt to the cheese if desired.
Cheese can be prepared using a special mold or a regular colander
-
Wait for the liquid to drain completely.
Leave the curd for a while to remove the whey
-
Close the dish with a lid and place the cheese in the refrigerator for 10-12 hours.
Weighting lid helps the cheese get rid of excess whey
-
The finished cheese can be eaten in its original form or soaked in a saline solution for a more pronounced taste and long-term storage.
The cheese can be eaten immediately after settling or kept in a salt solution
-
Serve Adyghe cheese as a stand-alone snack or use it to create complex dishes.
Adyghe cheese is good by itself or as an addition to other dishes
