Such a sight terrifies most people, and the first thought that comes to mind is that there is a ghost that the pet sees. Is this really so or is everything much more prosaic?

Why does the dog growl looking nowhere

Many owners endow their pets with minds and feelings similar to those of humans. Dogs are really very smart, they can be sad, happy, miss their owner. They see and hear much better than us (including in the dark), but they know much less about the world around us.

Yes, sometimes the dogs growl persistently, looking, for example, in the corner of the room, and many still begin to dig the floor there. At the same time, the dog looks either scared or very formidable. The first "brave men" usually set their tail between their legs, begin to tremble and try to hide away from the terrible place. In the latter, the hair on the nape of the neck stands on end, and in the mouth, even a short-sighted person can easily count all 42 canine teeth.

There is a logical explanation for this mystical picture:

• The dog really hears something, but the sound source is not in the corner or under the floor, but on the street or at the neighbors above / below the floor. This happens especially often in panel houses, where voids can remain at the joints of the slabs. The sound penetrates them, intricately distorted in these labyrinths, and comes out somewhere under the plinth of this apartment. Therefore, a child can indulge in three floors below, and a dog perceives a sound inaudible by a person as a signal of some incomprehensible danger, so it tries to react to it to the best of its courage. Also, the dog can hear sounds you cannot distinguish from the street, which, in his opinion, come from this part of the room (and the dog's imagination and spatial thinking are not enough to correctly determine their source).

• Another explanation may have dire consequences for the dog's health, because it is directly related to the disease of the nervous system. So often epilepsy manifests itself, the seizure of which can explain an attempt to scare someone invisible. During an attack, the dog may see hallucinations that we do not know about, so it growls at an enemy that is quite existing for it. After this, convulsions may occur (but an epileptic seizure can occur without them). First of all, you should show such a pet to a doctor, and only then think about otherworldly forces.

This is exactly what happened in my brother's family. Their dog is quite old, she is 12 years old. One day she began to growl violently and rush to the battery. The 15-year-old nephew came to calm the dog, but she did not recognize him and threw herself in his face. Then she had convulsions. Fortunately, the Miniature Pinscher is not a very large dog, and the child is not a toddler, so it ended up with a small scar. The family did not even suspect about epilepsy in a pet, but after that they began to treat it.

Everything that we cannot explain logically becomes mystical for us. Therefore, on the Internet, you can find many stories that ended with the growling of a dog into the void: from predictions of the death of one of the family members to the presence of a brownie who was cajoled with porridge, and the dog stopped growling at the corner of the room.

You can treat this in different ways. The most important thing is comfort and calmness in the house. Many in such cases turn to the priests who consecrate the ill-fated room. They say it helps. Why not do it for your peace of mind?

Probably everything in our world can be explained logically or from the point of view of physics. We just usually do not have enough knowledge and experience to do it. The main thing is that this behavior is not caused by health problems of the pet, and everything else, most likely, is much more prosaic than it looks from the outside.
