There are 5 effective ways to whiten a shirt from even the most stubborn dirt, and you can do it easily at home. Depending on the type of fabric, you need to choose the most suitable stain remover. Let's consider each of them separately.

With citric acid

This method works best on cotton and linen items. For the solution, you need to mix citric acid and water, observing the proportion of 1 tablespoon of lemon for each liter of water (while the temperature of the mixture should not exceed 50 ° C). Leave the soaked products for 3 hours, then rinse thoroughly under a pouring stream of cold water. After drying, steam with an iron for a more noticeable effect.

Talc

This method is suitable for all types of textiles. It takes more time, but is not inferior to others in removing contamination. The cuffs and collar must first be wetted, and then sprayed with abundant talcum powder (it is sold in any pharmacy, as well as in household goods stores). For stubborn dirt, it is recommended to rub the product into a cloth. In this form, the shirt is all night, in the morning it must be washed by hand or using a washing machine with the addition of washing powder.

Laundry soap

This method is also applicable to all types of fabrics. Things must be wetted and rubbed intensively with laundry soap. In this state, the products must be placed in polyethylene (bag or film) and left in a warm place for 1.5 hours. After that, things need to be washed in a typewriter. The quality of whitening will depend on the choice of laundry soap. The alkali content in it must be at least 72% (this is usually indicated on the package).

Slaked soda

This type of bleaching is suitable for all types of textiles. Soda is mixed with acetic acid in a 1: 1 ratio. The resulting foam is applied to the contaminated areas, previously moistened with warm water. Things should be washed by hand and set aside for 1 hour, then rinsed in clean water. In order to preserve the type of material, the cleaning process can be repeated no more than 5 times on the same product.

Powdered milk

This method is applicable for synthetic products. Add 500 ml of room temperature water and 250 grams of milk powder to a small container. Soak the previously washed shirt in the resulting mixture and leave for 1.5 hours. Then rinse thoroughly under running water and wash again with detergent.

All stain removal methods are effective if the indicated proportions are observed. Also, do not forget that if you overexpose products under the influence of cleaners, the fabric can deteriorate (lose its appearance and color). Therefore, keep a close eye on the time, it is best to set a timer.
