7 things from Soviet times that triumphantly returned to the world of fashion
Fashion leaves and returns, often making us nostalgic for bright times that have left a mark on history. In 2020, we remember the USSR and the uncomplicated fashion of those times.
Quilted jacket
Women put on a warm vest when going to potatoes and winter sports. These short quilted jackets looked, to put it mildly, so-so.
But today they have changed, prettier, full of all kinds of flowers and have become a fashion trend.
Practical rubber boots
A rare Soviet woman, accustomed to working up to a sweat, did without these practical, and most importantly, indestructible shoes. They didn't think much about fashion then - they wore practical and affordable things in which it was warm, dry, comfortable.
In 2020, comfort can also be called the main trend, but now it does not exclude beauty and style.
Sheepskin coat
Jackets and coats made of sheepskin, mostly faux, are back in fashion. Still, now we are focused on environmental friendliness and non-violence in relation to our smaller brothers, because natural fur and leather are in less demand.
But with what nostalgia our mothers and grandmothers, who have lived most of their lives in the USSR, look at the ultra-fashionable sheepskin coats.
Fur hat with earflaps
We have known for a long time that fashion is cyclical, therefore no one is surprised by the renewed interest in women's hats with earflaps a la Tosya from the famous movie "Girls".
However, at that time, almost all women wore such hats, and foreign tourists never stopped loving and associating them with our country.
Shawl like grandma
In the West, the old headscarf was nicknamed “grandmother”. Today it is relevant again, and not only among our older relatives, but also among young beauties who tie it in the style of Grace Kelly.
It must be admitted that the accessory looks very aesthetically pleasing.
Mesh string bag
The bag was the constant companion of all women and men during the grocery trip.
Now we strive for conscious consumption and sustainable living, so many have already purchased reusable shopping bags and ditched plastic bags, and all kinds of brands from supermarkets to clothing and footwear manufacturers have released their stylish versions of a textile grocery bag.
Clothes made using macrame technique
Previously, macrame knitted clothes were very popular, and issues of Burda Moden magazine with knitting patterns were sold out like hot cakes. However, there was no choice of clothes then, and women had to sew and knit with their own hands in order to somehow stand out from the gray mass.
Now we do not have such a need, but macrame tops and dresses have again become a hit on the world catwalks and have already appeared in stores in the mass market segment.
