Eat or not worth it: how much "basins" with salads and other dishes from the New Year's table can be stored in the refrigerator

The most expensive and delicious food is prepared for the holiday, which it is a pity to throw away after the feast. But products cannot be stored for a long time either, so you always need to remember about expiration dates.

Vegetable or fruit cuts

Chopped fruit will keep in the refrigerator for up to two days, and the same goes for most vegetables. Soft fruits and vegetables are stored even less as they quickly lose their appearance.

Cuts from sausage, cheese and smoked fish are stored for 2-3 days, from salted fish - 2 days. It is best to store them on the lower shelves, where the temperature is coldest. To prevent the slicing from winding up and staying fresh longer, you can cover it with cling film or a plate, wrap it in a bag or paper towel.

Open canned food

Open jam can be stored in the refrigerator for about six months - until signs of spoilage appear. Opened canned fish will have to be thrown away after 1–2 days, and they must be laid out of a tin package and kept in a glass or plastic container with a lid.

Salads with mayonnaise, butter or sour cream

Mayonnaise salads can be stored for no more than 12 hours, as mayonnaise is a favorable environment for microorganisms.

Salads, in which only oil was used for dressing, are also not stable - their taste deteriorates after an hour, and edible, when stored in the refrigerator, they will remain for several hours.

Fried meat or fish

Fried and stewed fish, regardless of their type and method of preparation, can stand in the refrigerator for about a day and a half, after which they must be eaten or discarded. Fried meat, including poultry, does not spoil for a little longer - about two days.

All fried foods should be stored on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator in a sealed container to minimize the growth of harmful bacteria.

Bakery products

Purchased cakes, muffins and pastries remain fresh for three days from the date of purchase due to the preservatives they contain.

It is best to store sweet baked goods closed and as far away from other foods as possible, the smell of which they may accidentally absorb.
