How to clean different material phone cases
The cover is an accessory that protects cleanliness and order, which performs an important function of protecting our phones from dust, dirt and mechanical damage. Accordingly, it is far from always possible to preserve it in its original form. But don't be upset: if the cover gets dirty, you can try to clean it using different methods. They will vary depending on the type of material, be it silicone, leather or other coating.
How to clean a silicone phone case
Stylish and beautiful red silicone case
Silicone is a very common material used in many areas of our life. Covers made of it look stylish and beautiful.
It should be borne in mind that silicone is susceptible to mechanical damage, so do not use sharp, hard and hard objects when cleaning. Also, chlorine-containing products should not be used - the material may become cloudy and yellow.
Methods for removing contamination:
- Water and soap are the best way to remove stains from silicone cases. Soap can be toilet or household soap; shampoo or dishwashing detergent will also work. You need to add soap shavings to warm water and beat the foam, then lower the cover into the solution for 20-30 minutes (in case of heavy pollution - for 1 hour). After this time, we take it out, wipe it with a soft cloth or sponge and wipe it dry.
- If the white material is heavily soiled, you can use chlorine-free bleach: prepare an aqueous solution or apply the product directly to the contaminated surface.
- We mix a spoonful of baking soda with a few drops of water and apply to the surface without rubbing - the method is suitable for very dirty products of any color.
- White or discolored stains can be removed by rubbing with acetone-free nail polish remover or toothpaste.
- You can try to remove ink or felt-tip stains with alcohol or alcohol-based solutions.
Important: Silicone cases are very sensitive to all kinds of dirt, so it's best to keep them clean at all times. If you allow the dirt to take root deeply, it is unlikely to be washed away

Pouch bag with a button
Leather products are quite practical, compared to their silicone counterparts, they are easier to care for. However, they are also prone to contamination.
Methods for removing contamination:
- The soapy water method above is very good for cleaning leather cases.
- If the white cover is dirty, then you can do the following: wipe the product with fat milk or, if the stains are old, with a mixture of milk with raw egg white. This will help not only remove stains, but also whiten.
- For cleaning and caring for leather goods, shoe care products are suitable.
- Greasy stains can be removed with gruel from potato starch: evenly distribute it over the contaminated areas, leave for half an hour, then rinse.
- Stains of unknown origin can be removed by mixing turpentine and rubbing alcohol in equal proportions, apply to the product, leave for half an hour, then wipe it again with alcohol.
After completing all the manipulations, you can cover the cover with glycerin - this will give it a shine.
Methods for removing dirt from a suede cover
Black and purple suede covers
- If your suede case is a little dusty or not very dirty, then gently rub it with an eraser - it should help.
- You can hold the product over steam, and then brush it with a special suede and nubuck brush - this will help not only get rid of dirt, but also improve the appearance of the product.
- If the suede is dark, you can try cleaning it with kerosene. True, dyed suede after using this method will be hopelessly damaged.
- There are special foams for cleaning suede shoes - you can use them for our purpose as well.
Methods for removing dirt from polyurethane or eco-leather
The spots are very visible
- You can apply the same method with soapy water as for the silicone and leather cases.
- You can use lemon juice to remove ink stains.
- To remove greasy stains, use a 20% alcohol solution: they should be wiped off the stains. Repeat if necessary.
Under no circumstances should you use chlorine products, hard brushes and scouring pads, bleaches and products containing acids.
To clean plastic, you need to use special plastic cleaners - they are safe and very effective.
Helpful hint: try to avoid contact of any smartphone accessories with jeans - if stains remain, it will be very difficult to remove them.
