5 ways to use soap residues

Despite the great abundance of liquid soap, experienced housewives prefer lumpy soap. But what to do when small pieces remain from solid soap after a while. There are several options for their use.

Liquid soap

A "useful" liquid agent is prepared from the remains of solid soap, which is used for washing hands or household needs.

It is necessary to break the remnants into pieces or grate. Then pour the shavings into the dispenser, leaving 1/3 of the bottle free. Then pour boiling water over the soap crumbs and close tightly. Solid pieces will dissolve for several days, during this period the container must be shaken regularly so that the liquid inside is actively mixed.

The soap will be healthier and more pleasant if natural ingredients are mixed into it. Water is replaced with a decoction of herbs. And when the solids are completely dissolved, essential oils, molten honey and even milk are added. When using natural ingredients, a preservative is additionally introduced into the mixture - bay leaf oil, lemon juice or an oil solution of vitamin E. When all the components are poured into the dispenser, the gel is well shaken again and the soap is ready for use.

When improving a liquid product, it is important not to overdo it. Do not mix all additives in one bottle. Combine a maximum of two ingredients, for example: milk and honey, a couple of oils, aloe juice and vitamins, vanilla or cinnamon.

New solid soap

From the remnants, you can recreate a new bar of solid soap. The simplest method is to moisten the existing residues with water and blind to each other. The method is quick, but the resulting block is unlikely to look aesthetically pleasing. However, there is another way: the accumulated remnants are sorted by color, crushed and melted in a water bath. To do this, take two containers, one of which does not react with alkali - heat-resistant glass, enamel-coated dishes, stainless steel. The pot with water is brought to a boil and placed on top of the container with soap shavings, the closer it is to the surface of the water, the faster the process will go.

It is important to prevent the soapy water from boiling. The resulting melt is poured into pre-prepared molds. Silicone or plastic containers are lubricated with oil for better extraction of frozen soap. For drying, the solution is placed in a cool place, out of direct sunlight. The hardened pieces are removed from the molds and wrapped in cellophane for storage.

Instead of a water bath, use a microwave oven. A container with remnants and boiling water is placed in the microwave and taken out for stirring every 10-15 seconds and so on until it is completely dissolved.

Shower Gel Replacement

In the household departments of the stores, they sell washcloths-pockets. Such a product is easy to make yourself. The material for the bag will be an old terry towel, a sock and tights made of pleasant fabric, or even an old washcloth. The fabric is sewn on four sides, leaving a small hidden hole for entering the pocket. Through it, the remains of the hygiene product are poured into the washcloth. When exposed to water, the pieces form a delicate foam that cleanses the skin.

Depending on the material used and the quality of the remnants, the scope of application can be expanded. Such a washcloth is used not only for a shower, but also for cleaning hands in summer cottages and even for washing dishes.

Fragrance for things

Another use of soap bar leftovers is homemade fragrance. Clothes, towels and bed linen that have been in the closet for a long time lose their freshness and pleasant smell. Fragrant soap will save the day. The remnants are dried and placed in cloth bags, which are laid out on the shelves of cabinets or between linen. Such flavors will not only get rid of mustiness, but also scare away moths and other insects.

Scrub

To prepare a soap scrub, you will need shavings from remnants and natural peeling. The coarse particles are sea salt, ground coffee beans, oatmeal or ground cereal. Depending on the size of the abrasive particles, the scrub is applied to the face, body or feet.

Soap pieces are poured with hot water to form a plastic clay. Add glycerin and a scrubbing mass. Mix thoroughly with a drop of lemon juice. From the resulting mixture, spheres or blocks are formed. Dry in a cool place without access to light. If there are a lot of peeling particles in the soap, the pieces are not formed, but the crumbly scrub is stored in a jar.

Although soap is an inexpensive commodity, discarded remnants make up a good budget for the year. And if you calculate what funds you do not need to spend money on, but make it out of leftovers, the savings are obvious.
