Lush brushwood on kefir: a proven recipe for a treat

Step-by-step recipe for cooking brushwood on kefir
Once I already told about a neighbor grandmother from my childhood, who often invited me to evening tea parties with her grandchildren. Among the treats she prepared was lush brushwood on kefir. I still remember this wonderful smell of delicacies fried in hot sunflower oil, which spread throughout the street and made me want to forget about games and run to the table.
Ingredients:
- 3-4 st. wheat flour;
- 300-400 ml of kefir;
- 1 egg;
- 1 tsp soda;
- 3 tbsp. l. granulated sugar;
- 1 pinch of salt;
- 100 ml of vegetable oil for frying;
- icing sugar for dusting.
Preparation:

Prepare food. Remove the kefir and milk from the refrigerator half an hour before cooking so that they warm to room temperature.
Eggs and kefir for the dough must be warm
- Sift flour 2-3 times, mix with baking soda, sugar and salt.

Beat the egg into the mixture.
Choose a large container for effortless mixing of the ingredients you want.

Stir the ingredients, pour in the kefir. Add the drink gradually, focusing on the consistency of the dough. The mass should not be liquid.
If the kefir is too cold, heat it up a little.

Knead in a thick, slightly sticky dough.
To keep the dough fluffy, don't add too much flour or knead for too long.
- Lubricate your hands with vegetable oil, roll the dough into a ball and transfer to a bowl.
- Cover the dough with a towel and let sit for 30 minutes.

Place the dough on a floured board and roll it into a layer 0.5 cm thick or slightly larger.
Do not roll out the dough too thin, otherwise the brushwood will be dry

Cut the dough into small rectangles.
To prevent the workpieces from sticking to your hands and board, periodically add a small amount of flour

Make an incision in each piece, turn out the edges of the dough as shown below.
Form neat pieces by turning the edges of the dough through the holes in the center of the pieces

Fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides.
Use unscented sunflower oil for frying brushwood
