The process of creating this pastry is so interesting that adults and children are happy to participate in it. Vases with a delicacy beautifully decorated with glaze solemnly take place on the tables, and are also carefully wrapped in gift bags for loved ones.

Step-by-step gingerbread recipe

Over the past few years, I really wanted to finally make gingerbread. But everyday chores did not leave me time to do it. Last year, a miracle finally happened. Already in October, I received the holiday-themed molds ordered in the online store, and my daughter and I began to patiently wait for the holiday. On the eve of Christmas I started looking for a recipe for gingerbread and chose the one that seemed to me the most interesting. I share it with you too.

How to make icing and decorate gingerbread

The most common use for decorating gingerbread and cookies is a thick icing based on powdered sugar. In its original form, this product turns out to be snow-white, but it can easily be dyed in the desired colors using food dyes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg white;
  • 200 g finely ground powdered sugar;
  • 2-5 drops of lemon juice.

Preparation:

  1. Whisk the egg white at room temperature.

  5. Place the finished icing in the cooking bags with attachments. If there are no attachments, simply cut off the corners of the bags and squeeze the frosting through the resulting mini-holes.

    Glaze bags should be cut very carefully, otherwise the holes will be too large and neat patterns will not work

  6. Decorate the gingerbread cookies and let the glaze dry completely.
