Oven-baked carrots: a selection of simple and healthy recipes
A bright and juicy beauty carrot is most often used in cooking as one of the ingredients in complex dishes. Not everyone knows that this healthy and tasty vegetable can be used to make excellent side dishes for meat or fish, as well as simple snacks that will appeal to many. Today we will look at a few simple recipes for baking carrots in the oven.
Step by step recipes for baked carrots
About two years ago, I never could have thought that carrots could be baked. No, of course, I used it to cook a vegetable "pillow" for fish in the oven and added to the roast, but I never cooked the root vegetable without other ingredients. However, it turned out by chance that my daughter is a great "eater" of baked vegetables. After she started choosing carrot pieces from all the dishes, I decided to look for food options in which this particular product plays the main role. And I must say that there were a lot of necessary recipes. Moreover, my spouse liked these dishes too, so now I cook them very often.
Carrot sticks with garlic and cheese in the oven
This appetizer is a great replacement for french fries, while being healthier and just as tasty.
Ingredients:
- 2-3 fresh carrots;
- 1/4 Art. grated hard cheese;
- 1 tbsp. l. garlic powder;
- 1 tbsp. l. olive oil;
- 2 tbsp. l. chopped parsley;
- salt and black pepper to taste.
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- Wash the carrots thoroughly to remove dirt and pat dry with paper towels. If you are using old vegetables with coarse skins for cooking, cut them off.

Cut the root vegetables in half (across), then cut each piece into 4-6 long sticks.

Transfer the vegetable to a suitable container, add salt and black pepper, garlic powder, herbs and cheese grated on a fine grater, stir.

Pour olive oil into a bowl and mix well again.

Place the carrots on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, spread evenly over the entire surface, taking care to leave small gaps between the pieces of vegetable.

Carrots baked with honey and butter
A good option for those who like to feast on dishes with a spicy touch. The honey sweetness goes well with the moderate pungency of the garlic.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg of carrots;
- 60 g of liquid honey;
- 4 tbsp. l. butter;
- 3 cloves of garlic;
- 1 sprig of parsley;
- salt and black pepper - optional.
Preparation:

Melt the butter, refrigerate slightly. Cut the carrots into cubes with a side of about 1 cm.

Pour the vegetable pieces with the honey-oil mixture, stir.

Spicy carrots baked under foil
Such a fragrant side dish can be offered even to guests! An interesting dish with an amazing aroma and unusual taste goes well with fish or poultry.
Ingredients:
- 10 carrots;
- 2 cloves of garlic;
- 500 ml of meat broth;
- 3-4 st. l. vegetable oil;
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- 1 pinch of red hot pepper;
- salt on the tip of a knife.
Preparation:

Choose roots of approximately the same size, wash, dry, remove the tails.
Prepare the carrots

Carefully cut each vegetable in half lengthwise.
Cut the root vegetables into 2 pieces

Place the carrots in a single layer in a large baking dish.
Transfer the vegetables to the mold

Mix the broth with vegetable oil, spices and herbs.
Mix the fill ingredients
- Cut the peeled garlic cloves into thin slices and place between the pieces of vegetables and on top.
- Pour the broth over the vegetables.
- Place a large piece of baking foil on the baking tin, fix it tightly so that there are no gaps.

Place the dish in the oven and cook the carrots for 45 minutes at 180-190 degrees.

- When the carrots are soft, remove the foil and bake the vegetables until golden brown. The average cooking time for this step is 15–20 minutes.

Serve the carrot side dish with any dish of your choice.
