To rid the onion of bitterness, pour boiling water over it and leave it there for a quarter of an hour.

  5. Pass the peeled and washed potatoes through a special grater for Korean carrots, rinse and dry.

You can just cut the potatoes into strips, but this will no longer be the classic "Nest"

  6. Pour the oil into a high-sided skillet (a wok is perfect for this), heat and dip the potato chips into it.

  13. Cover the salad with potato strips, leaving the center of the "nest" empty - you need to add chopped dill here.

  15. Another decoration option: take boiled chicken eggs instead of quail eggs, cut them in half, remove the yolks, mash with 1-2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, a pinch of dill and cream cheese. Season with salt, pepper, sculpt small "testicles" and put them in the "nest".

There are many ways to prepare and serve this mouth-watering salad

Some people prefer to lay the ingredients of the salad on a dish in layers, smearing them with mayonnaise: onions - fillets - cucumbers, etc. But in my humble experience, such a salad turns out to be rather dry, so I prefer to immediately mix all the components of the "nest" in a bowl and only then spread them on the dish.
