Despite the fact that the set of products for it is very simple and affordable (it’s even not clear where such a noble name comes from), the dish turns out to be very tasty, bright and original.

How to make a salad "Count"

The main ingredients of the salad are chicken meat, prunes and red beets. It is they who set the color and the main notes of taste.

You will need:

  • 3 medium beets;
  • 2 carrots;
  • 4 chicken eggs;
  • 150 g of hard cheese;
  • 600 g chicken fillet or thighs;
  • 100 g prunes
  • salt, mayonnaise, spices - to taste.

The "Graf" salad is traditionally harvested in a flat cylindrical form for cakes, laying out the products in turns in layers and smearing them with mayonnaise. I suggest you try a more original way: we will make the "Graf" salad in the form of a roll. It is a little more complicated, but the dish turns out to be interesting in appearance, and, in my opinion, such a decision affects the taste for the better.

  1. First, prepare all the foods. Boil the beets with carrots until tender, peel and grate with medium cells. Do the same with eggs, if desired, you can grate whites and yolks separately. Boil the chicken and cut the meat into thin strips. Soak the prunes in boiling water for 10 minutes, then dry and chop as well.

  2. When all the products are prepared, start assembling the salad. Spread cling foil or a thick bag on the table. With the first layer, evenly distribute the beets in the shape of a rectangle. Spread it with mayonnaise and salt a little.

  3. Next, lay out in layers, each time adding mayonnaise and salt: carrots, eggs (or just whites, and put the yolks in the last layer or decorate the prepared salad with them on top), grated cheese, chicken mixed with prunes.

  4. Roll gently, wrap the edges of the bag or foil, and refrigerate to soak the salad. It is advisable to keep the dish like this for several hours, you can leave it overnight.
