By combining pasta and potatoes with other ingredients, you can make a myriad of different dishes, including main courses, salads and soups. It is the latter that we will pay a little attention to today.

Throughout my culinary journey, I have never faced the problem of what first dish to cook for lunch. Thanks to the availability of simple products and a flight of imagination, I have always been able to prepare a hearty and mouth-watering soup without much effort. And yes, pasta and potatoes are often a good help in this matter. I will not hide that I am not a big fan of combining pasta and potatoes in one dish, but my household is very fond of such soups. I share several recipes for such a meal with you.
Soup with pasta, potatoes and chicken
This dish can be offered to both children and adults. A simple soup with a rich taste and wonderful aroma perfectly satisfies hunger in a matter of minutes.
Ingredients:
- 2 liters of water;
- 200 g chicken fillet;
- 4 potatoes;
- 200 ml of tomato juice;
- 70 g of pasta;
- 1-2 heads of onions;
- 1 carrot;
- 1-2 bay leaves;
- 1 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;
- salt and black pepper to taste.
Preparation:

Cut the chicken meat into small pieces of any shape and transfer to a saucepan.
Chop the meat

Cut the peeled potato tubers into cubes with a side of about 1.5 cm.
Prepare the potatoes
- Transfer the potatoes to a container with chicken meat, cover with water and place on the stove. When the liquid comes to a boil, reduce the heat and continue to cook for 10 minutes.

Chop the onions with a knife, grate the carrots on a fine or medium grater.
Chop vegetables
- Fry the carrots with onions and fry until soft in a pan with vegetable oil.

Pour tomato juice into the vegetable stew, add salt and black pepper to taste. Cover the skillet with a lid and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
Prepare frying

Pour pasta into the soup.
Add pasta

2-3 minutes after setting the pasta, transfer the tomato-vegetable mass to a saucepan and add laurel leaves. Continue cooking for another 5 minutes.
Top the soup with aromatic bay leaves

Remove the bay leaf from the saucepan, turn off the stove, and pour the soup into serving bowls.
Serve in portions or in a large tureen

Beef soup with pasta and potatoes
An unusual recipe, thanks to which you can please your loved ones with a very tasty and uniquely aromatic dish with notes of Caucasian cuisine.
Ingredients:
- 300 g of boiled beef;
- 2/3 st. pasta;
- 3-4 potatoes;
- 1 head of onion;
- 30 g butter;
- 1 tbsp. l. tomato paste;
- 2.5 liters of beef broth;
- 1/2 tsp ground red pepper;
- 2 tsp salt;
- 3-4 sprigs of fresh cilantro.
Preparation:

Prepare all ingredients.
Put groceries on your desktop
- Cut the boiled beef without bones and veins into small pieces, raw potatoes - into cubes.

Choose a saucepan of a suitable size, place butter and pasta in it.
Transfer the butter and pasta to a large saucepan

Stir constantly and saute the pasta until golden brown.
Fry the pasta until blush

Put boiled meat, raw potatoes and a whole onion into a saucepan with pasta, add red ground pepper.
Add potatoes, meat, onions and ground pepper to the pasta

Pour the soup ingredients over the hot broth and cook until the potatoes and pasta are cooked through.
Pour in the broth
- 15 minutes before the end of cooking, add tomato paste and salt to the soup.

Remove the saucepan from the heat, add chopped fresh cilantro and stir. Before serving, let the soup sit for 10-15 minutes, covered.

Soup with pasta, potatoes and meatballs
A duet of potatoes and pasta can perfectly complement tender meatballs. To make cooking easier and faster, the meatballs can be pre-cooked and frozen.
Ingredients:
- 2.5 liters of water;
- 400 g minced chicken;
- 3-5 potatoes;
- 1 head of onion;
- 1 carrot;
- 80 g of small pasta;
- 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;
- 1 bay leaf;
- salt and black pepper - to taste;
- fresh dill.
Preparation:

Stock up on the right ingredients.
Prepare food

Season the minced chicken with salt and black pepper, mix well and beat thoroughly. Form into small meatballs 2 cm in diameter.
Shape the meatballs

Place the meatballs in boiling water with a little salt and cook for 10 minutes.
Transfer the meatballs to a pot of boiling water
- Cut the potatoes into small pieces and put them in a saucepan with meatballs, continue cooking for another quarter of an hour.
- Fry finely chopped onions and grated carrots in vegetable oil for 3-5 minutes.

Transfer the vegetable fry to the soup and add the bay leaf.
Add stir-fried vegetables and laurel leaves to the soup

Pour pasta into the soup (in this case, vermicelli was used), stir, cook for 4–5 minutes.
Pour in the vermicelli

Add chopped fresh dill or other herbs 1-2 minutes before the end of cooking.
Sprinkle fresh herbs on the dish
