"Obzhorka" classic: eat in a minute and ask for an addition
On the eve of the next holiday, you always want to please your loved ones not only with your favorite salads, but also with some new dish. In order not to waste time looking for a recipe for a delicious surprise, I suggest you prepare the classic Obzhorka salad. Hearty meat goes well with fried vegetables, and pickles add a spicy touch to the dish.
A step-by-step recipe for the classic Obzhorka salad
I did not even suspect the existence of this salad until the day I tasted it at the celebration in honor of the end of the language courses I attended for a year. One of the girls in our group brought this food, spreading it into tartlets. I confess that at first the appearance of the dish did not make me wildly desire to try it, but my interest won out. I want to say that the taste of the salad turned out to be delicious, so now I myself often prepare this dish for my family and friends.
Ingredients:
- 450 g of boiled beef;
- 2 carrots;
- 1 head of onion;
- 3 pickled cucumbers;
- 200 g croutons;
- mayonnaise - to taste;
- ground black pepper - to taste;
- salt to taste;
- vegetable oil for frying;
- fresh herbs for decoration.
Cooking steps:

Boil the beef for 50 minutes. A few minutes before the end of cooking, add a couple of pinches of salt, a few peas of allspice and 1 bay leaf to the pan.
The meat will turn out more fragrant if you add spices and seasonings to the broth during cooking

Cool the finished meat and cut into thin strips.
Beef can be cut into strips or neat cubes

Grate the carrots on a coarse grater and fry until semi-soft.
Carrots should be soft on the outside and slightly crispy on the inside.

Cut the onion into half rings and fry until golden brown.
Onions should be sautéed until golden brown.

Cut pickled cucumbers into strips. Squeeze the prepared vegetable lightly with your hands to get rid of excess brine.
To prevent cucumbers from spoiling the salad with excess liquid, squeeze them slightly with your hands.

Transfer all ingredients to a large bowl, add mayonnaise, black pepper and salt to taste, stir.
The amount of mayonnaise in the salad is adjustable in taste
- Place the food in a salad bowl.

Garnish with croutons and fresh herbs before serving.
The salad can be garnished with sprigs of fresh parsley, dill, or chopped green onions
