You will need:

  • 1 can of sprat;
  • 1 onion;
  • 3 medium pickled cucumbers;
  • 1 carrot;
  • 3-5 potatoes;
  • fresh herbs, spices, salt, sour cream - to taste.

You can add some rice if desired. I always cook pickle with rice, less often with barley. But in this case, less potatoes are needed: the grains are well boiled, and the pickle can turn out to be very thick. Yes, many people like thick soups, but it is better not to bring it to the state of porridge. Rice should be put 10 minutes before making the soup.

  1. Boil water and put chopped potatoes in it. While it is cooking, simmer the cucumbers, cut into small pieces, on a nearby burner in a small saucepan. In a skillet, fry the onions and carrots.
  2. The potatoes are already cooked. Place the roast, cucumbers and sprat in turn. Stir and taste with salt. If you find it necessary to add salt, pour in a little cucumber pickle.
