7 mini vegetables that taste even better than full-size relatives

Recently, mini vegetables are gaining popularity both in the West and in the countries of East Asia. The reason for this is their high content of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Mini tomatoes

This is a special kind of tomato that is smaller than cherry tomatoes. To breed them, breeders have to resort to complex hybridization methods. The progenitor of these vegetables is the currant-leaved tomato.

The peculiarity of this species is the fruits that are similar in size to large currant berries. This variety existed earlier, was considered wild. Already from it, the breeders derived the usual ordinary tomato familiar to everyone.

There are two main varieties of mini-tomatoes - currant-leaved tomato and "Gold Rush". These two plants are almost identical. The only difference is the color of the fruit. The first has a red color, the second has a bright yellow.

Mini corn

It usually grows no more than 12 centimeters in length. The ear does not exceed 4 centimeters in diameter. Taste characteristics are in no way inferior to ordinary corn.

1. Robe of the king. A distinctive feature of this variety is a pattern that resembles marble. On the fruits, purple and white shades are beautifully combined.
2. Ophelia. A miniature representative of the usual dark purple eggplant. Absolutely identical to its full-sized relative.
3. Turkish orange. The variety is red-orange in color. In addition to color, it differs in the weight of the fruits. Mini eggplants can grow up to 100 grams.

Mini zucchini

A variety with excellent taste and juicy pulp. Fruits grow in weight from 300 to 500 grams. They have a cylindrical shape, light green color with white spots.

Mini peppers

Unlike its cousin - hot chili peppers, mini-peppers can be grown in the country or on the balcony in the apartment. The taste is in no way inferior to hot chili peppers.

Mini pumpkin

Breeders have long bred several varieties of mini-pumpkin, which weigh much less than one kilogram.

1. Baby Boo. They are white with pronounced "ribs". Fruit weight ranges from 100 to 300 grams. The taste is not as expressive as that of full-sized relatives. Ideal for creating unusual interior items.
2. Sweet chestnut. They have a dark green skin with chestnut stripes. When stored for a long time, they change their color to brown. It has the unforgettable taste of edible roasted chestnut. Has a starchy, crumbly structure.
