How to feed your baby tasty and healthy: preparing an omelet in a jar
Eggs are a tasty and healthy product that should be present in the diet of both children and adults, however, due to their specific smell and taste, not everyone likes it. If among the adult part of the population you can find a small percentage of opponents of the use of eggs, then among children it increases significantly. In such cases, the recipe for an omelet in a bank comes in handy.
Step-by-step recipe for omelet in a jar
I got acquainted with the recipe for making an omelet in a jar almost 10 years ago, when my eldest daughter was just starting to get acquainted with new products. The introduction of eggs into complementary foods became a big problem, since the baby flatly refused this product in any form. But on one of the parental forums, I still found a dish of eggs that the little fussy liked.
Ingredients:
- 1 egg;
- 1/2 tbsp. milk;
- salt on the tip of a knife.
Preparation:
- Wash and dry a small glass jar.
-
Prepare food for the omelet.
An omelet is made with just a few simple ingredients.
-
Beat the egg well with salt using a whisk or fork.
Use a regular fork or whisk to whisk and mix the ingredients.
-
Add milk.
Mix the milk well with the beaten egg
-
Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
After mixing the mixture, you can proceed to the next step.
-
Pour the egg and milk mixture into the jar you prepared earlier.
For cooking an omelet, a clean glass container of a small volume with a wide neck is used
-
At the bottom of the pan, in which the omelet will be cooked, put another nylon lid (old) or a piece of thick cloth. These actions are necessary so that the jar does not crack from the high temperature.
To prevent the jar from cracking during heating, you can put an unnecessary lid or thick cloth on the bottom of the pan
-
Place a jar in a saucepan, close with a nylon lid. Pour water so that the liquid level is 1–2 cm above the level of the egg mixture.
The omelet can must remain closed throughout the entire cooking process.
- Turn on the stove, select a medium heat setting and wait until it boils.
- After boiling water, cook the omelet for 20 minutes. During cooking, the omelet will increase in volume by 1.5–2 times.
- Remove the jar from the pot of hot water. Open the cover carefully to avoid scalding.
-
Use a spoon or spatula to place the omelet on a plate and serve immediately.
