The condition of the lawn directly depends on the amount of time that the owner devotes to it. It is enough to let the situation take its course for a week, and weeds will sprout between the lawn grass - dandelions, plantain, clover and quinoa. These and other weeds not only spoil the view, they also attract insect pests and can be a source of fungal diseases. Therefore, weed control will have to be carried out regularly.

The situation is complicated by the high vitality of weeds, it will take a lot of time and effort to completely destroy them. Over time, they can reappear, as the wind carries their seeds far away.

There is no universal method to permanently get rid of weeds. The most laborious way to destroy them is mechanical. It will take a lot of time to weed several hundred square meters of lawn, it will be especially difficult to deal with dandelions, the roots of which remain deep in the ground and after a while begin to grow.

For weeding, you can use ordinary garden tools - a hoe, scoop, sharp knife. There are also more efficient tools, but they are more expensive: a special flat cutter, a narrow shovel with sharp edges. You also need to be able to use them correctly.

Some gardeners simply regularly mow the weeds, and this gives its result over time - each time their growth weakens and gradually stops altogether.

One of the most important minerals for young lawn grass is nitrogen, it is responsible for rapid growth and green mass gain. For plants to have a strong and healthy root system, they need phosphorus. This set is supplemented by potassium, which stimulates active growth, strengthens the immunity of plants, they become less susceptible to various diseases.

Fertilizers can be applied in early spring after snow melts and then regularly during the summer season. Both liquid and solid types of fertilizers work well on the lawn. The frequency of top dressing is from 10 days to 2 weeks, depending on the type of fertilizer and the manufacturer's recommendations.

A widely used mineral complex is nitroammofoska, which contains nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in the amount necessary for plants and is well absorbed by them.

Abundant watering

Watering lawn grass is necessary often enough, especially in hot and dry weather, to prevent the soil from drying out and plant death. But excessive moisture is also harmful, the consequence can be rotting of grass roots or the appearance of fungal diseases.

The optimal time for watering is early in the morning, so that during the day the water has time to be absorbed into the soil, and watering must be abundant so that the water moistens the earth to a depth of at least 20 cm.

It is important to control the degree of soil drying out. Specialists in landscaping and garden care recommend using special water jets or installing a drip irrigation system for the lawn.

Regular haircut

To determine the frequency of mowing lawn grass, it is most convenient to focus on the length of the stems. Depending on your preference, how dense you want to maintain your lawn, the height of the grass, after reaching which it is time to mow, can be from 7-8 cm to 10-15 cm. Or you can mow the lawn regularly, every 4-7 days.

Fungicide treatment

If a fungal disease appears on the lawn grass, it is necessary to treat the entire surface with special fungicidal agents that destroy fungi and their spores.

Fungal diseases of plants are manifested by a change in the color of the leaves, most often they turn white, become covered with spots. The uniform green cover is disturbed on the lawn, bald spots appear. In the future, in order to prevent this trouble, in the spring you need to spray the area with Fitosporin-M.

Mulching

Mulching is useful for many types of garden and ornamental plants, and lawn grass is no exception.
