In St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, there is a law "On Silence", which provides for liability for noise at the wrong time. It is permissible to carry out repair work on weekends. Unfortunately, such a clear regulation does not exist for residents of the regions. In each area, the set of rules regarding repair work may change. • do not carry out repair work on weekends and holidays;
• make repairs on weekdays from 9:00 to 19:00;
• during the day, work can be carried out only 6 hours, no more;
• repair work in the house can be carried out within three months, no more;
• the maximum noise level of instruments should be no more than 40 dBA.

What to do if convenient time is prohibited

If you are forced to make repairs at a prohibited time, then for the complete legality of actions, you need to bypass all the closest neighbors (along the staircase, as well as on the floor above and below). Make a free-form written agreement that you plan to carry out the work at the specified time (specify the date and time exactly), and the neighbors are notified and have no complaints. Collect signatures from neighbors and save the paper until the end of the work. In the future, this will save you from a possible fine.
